Earth Day challenge

OK - it's finally time - here's my challenge.

I'd like you to have a go at making a card using OLD TEXT. This can be a page out of an old book, newspaper, sheet music etc. Easy!

Once you've made your card, post it on your blog (or if you don't have a blog, post it to the forum here). Wherever you post it, be sure to leave me a comment at this post so I know to put you in the draw for an Earth Day stamp.

Don't forget, there are HEAPS of challenges to enter - click here to see all of the Odd Bird Planet DT challenges.

The winners of all of each of the challenges will be entered into a draw for the following prizes:
$100 worth of OBP stamps
$50 worth of OBP stamps
Five lucky people will receive a coupon for a whopping 25% off their next order.

Alrighty, time to dig out that old text! Here's some inspiration to get you going:

You'll have until midnight on Thursday 23rd (or 5pm on Friday 24th if you're in Melbourne) to complete all challenges.

The prizes will be amazing! Here they are:

April at Lime Tart

Wow - the design team has done some pretty impressive things with the April kits! Check the gallery out here.

Here's a layout I did with the A la Tarte kit. The fence in the photo matched some of the colours in the kit perfectly - how could I not use it?

A giveaway

My good friend Barb - The Stamping Queen, if you please, is doing a little giveaway on her blog here. It's for a gorgeous set of Stampington stamps - all the best sellers. Pop on over and get your entry in.

Bloom acetate card

This is a card I made for the new challenge on the Twiddleybitz DT blog.

The challenge was to use acetate and a Twiddleybitz embellishment. I love using acetate - here I've stitched some double sided paper to the inside of the front of the card (now that required some thought!), and used the Twiddleybits chipboard, some rub ons and some self adhesive bling, all finished of with some ribbon. I used my Copics to colour the chipboard.

I think this would make a nice card for a teenager - I'm always short on ideas for that particular demographic.

TFL :)

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend whatever you're doing. We're spending time with family, and I'm getting just a few moments to spend in my craft room.

Here's a card I made using K&Co papers and OBP stamps:

Aint that little chiclet with bunny ears cute? Here's another with Sassafras Lass papers and OBP stamps:

I love polka dots at this time of year. Who am I kidding? I love them at every time of year!

New Collections Dragonflies

I've never been a big fan of dragonflies in craft.......until now. Check out this new product from Collections:

I painted the dragonflies white, and then glittered them. Yummo!

A chiffon bow, some stitching and a little brown ink sponged on the edges and the card was complete.

Julie has a whole bunch of new products about to hit the stores - you can see some more products in use on her blog here.

Shhh...I think she's gone insane!

It's Philippa from Lime Tart I'm talking about. She's GIVING away paper. Check it out here. I seriously think she has OD'd on chocolate. I'm not complaining tho ;) Free things are always nice - all you need to do is place and order (excluding April kits). If you spend $20, you get 20 sheets of paper. If you spend $100, you get 100 sheets of paper. Insane I tell you!

BTW, the April kits are now available for purchase. Here they are in all their glory:

Spring Sale

Just a few hours left of this grand sale at Odd Bird Planet.

Here are some bright cards to inspire you today:

I used Pointy Hats for this card - I cut those letters out on my Cuttlebug.

Next is a card for a little boy:

I used Lance Top Hat Bird. That's a Melissa Frances rubon sentiment - love that font!

And finally, this one:

That's tafetta ribbon shooting out of the cannon, together with some stars. Here's a close up:

a couple of cards.....

Back again with a couple of cards I've made using InStyle Stamps.

First up is this anniversary card:

I used a digi download image called Heart Balloons, and I filled them in with my stickles. I love how the glitter turned out.

Next up is a card for a friend:

We never really get much of a chance to catch up - I just want to let her know that I'm thinking of her - trying to keep the lines of communication open. Thank goodness for email I tell ya!

I used some retro-looking paper from Paper Salon, and my Copic markers. The image is called Steph - isn't she gorgeous?

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

another out of the bag

Here's another card I've made using PBS stamps. This stamp is called Empty, and I thought it would be great on a Father's Day card:

It's got fabric, some lace trim, a pen nib and a Tim Holtz ticket on it - it's quite textural (I've never even heard that word before, but you know what I mean!)

I just love that armchair. When I grow up I want an armchair just like it - just for me and a book. And perhaps a cat if I ever get over my allergy to them.

SIA

I had the opportunity (thanks to Lesley of Little Bits) of attending SIA this year. I guess this event would be the Aussie equivalent to CHA, but on a much (much, much...) smaller scale.

One of the highlights for me was the Collections stand. The thing (well, one of the things) I love about Julie is that she not only puts out a new product, but the samples she displays on the stand are always world-class, and you know that she has explored, exploited and stretched to the limit any product she releases.

I was overwhelmed with all the new products she has released, and we had the chance to play with some at the workshop. This is what we made:

It was a thrill seeing Julie again:

and I finally met the amazing Audrey:

I did the make and take (I'm wearing the pin on my in the photo above) early in the day, and Audrey was bright and bubbly. At the end of the day I stopped by the booth again, and Audrey was STILL bright and bubbly. There's just no stopping this incredibly talented lady! (These photos are a welcome addition to my album of Me with Famous People. He he.)

I also met Sherry:

Sherry is the DT manager for 1Worldscrap, but is also the DT manager for Twiddleybitz where she was working at SIA. Twiddleybitz are the company that have the most amazing opening gate made of chipboard. Here's a sample they had at their stand:

Well, now that little adventure is over, it's back to reality for me. Mum is currently in theatre having a shoulder reconstruction, so I'll be on nursing duties for both of my parents over the next few weeks. Thankfully I have a sister who will share the load. Right - smile on - off I go!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week.

it's in the (paper)bag

Paperbag Studios, one of my favourite stamp companies is having a Stamper Appreciation Promotion on their blog.
Here's a card I made using one of their stamps:

I made it for a male colleague who is leaving us for a short while to attend to his travel bug. The papers are from Basic Grey Ambrosia range, and I added some vintage dictionary page.
