A Christmas Wreath

I'm on a quest to design this year's Christmas card. I've left it really late (again!), so it's going to have to be pretty quick and simple.

I had some beautiful new papers from Making Memories, and I grabbed my red Stickles and a couple of stamps from Odd Bird Planet and away I went:

Inkurable bag

Here's a bag I made for this month's challenge at Inkurable Stampers. This month you need to make a box, envelope or bag. Here's what I made:

I used some beautiful sturdy paper from Websters. The scalloped oval stamp is by Banana Frog, and the bird is Danielle from Odd Bird Planet.

My challenge is POLKA DOT PINK. Here's my card:



I love pink and I love polka dots, so I'd love to see what you can come up with combining the two. You don't necessarily need to have pink polka dots, just something pink and something dotty on your card. The stamp I used is lovely skull n bones from Odd Bird Planet.

Why are pirates called pirates? Because they arrrrrrrrrrre.

A birthday!

This time it's for Lesley, the owner of Little Bits and one of my best crafty friends. Her favourite colour is green, so this is what I made:


I made an ATC because we're in an ATC group at Little Bits. That's a Collections bird, Basic Grey (Boxer) paper and crackle paint of course!

The dotty border stamp on the ATC is from Odd Bird Planet. It's one of my favourites for prettying up (is that correct English? Oh, you know what I mean!) projects. It's like adding frill without the bulk of lace.

Galactic birthday

I designed this card so that I'd have something to give a little boy:


The background is made with dark navy cardstock, spattered with diluted white acrylic paint. It looks like a starry sky, doesn't it?

I made the moon with my circle Nestabilities - I cut one circle and put the die across it to give a crescent. (Does that make sense?).

The sentiment is computer generated, and the owl is Space Owl from Odd Bird Planet.

The circus life

Do you ever feel like this:


Sometimes I think my head will explode, but then I think of life without the craziness, and let's face it, it would just be boring.

I love the chaos that comes with raising three children, and working, an being an internet addict and playing with paper. I might have an almighty TO DO list everyday, but it's all the little things that happen in between that make it interesting, don' t you think?

Dirty laundry

I love this punny card:


Get it? Ha ha! Guaranteed to cheer someone up.

I used my brand new tin of Prismacolor pencils for the images. Well, not all 72 of them, just a few. They really do blend beautifully - it's almost like they are mixing together. I did use a watercolour wash of blue for the sky in the background - the pencil colouring repelled the water slightly, so the image wasn't smudged at all.

I used Cathrine's Gnome Laundry and Hang in There stamps from Odd Bird Planet. Paper from Basic Grey, June Bug. Trim - gathered gingham ribbon (it's actually elastic to make it more difficult to work with LOL).

Fly me to the moon

This card has some Basic Grey June bug polka dot paper on it.


Great for a little boy's card with the bright primary colours on crisp white. I pleated the ribbon roughly and machine stitched it to hold it in place as the flames of the rocket. The rocket itself is coloured using Copics.

This is one of many images I coloured in while I was away in Hobart at a conference. Intestinal parasites by day, colouring in at night. It was a fabulous few days away....I even managed to find time to relax in a spa for a couple of hours. And the fudge from Salamanca market - oh my goodness the fudge!

Anyway, back to the card: I used Rocket and Fly me to the moon stamps from Odd Bird Planet.

Yay! Made it at last. Clearly I need to be supervised a little more closely when it comes to these international events!

Owls....a whole bunch of them!

This would make a great group card, wouldn't it?


With so many Odd Bird Planet owls available, there's sure to be one that represents every member of a group. Just to inject a little more personality into the little guys, I punched some of them out so it looks like they are shy and peeking at what's going on, or a little crooked so it looks like they are non-conformist (there's one in every group, isn't there?), or right at the bottom of the square to make them look short.

The almost forgotten boy version

Gosh - time flies when you're having fun! Even when it's not fun but you're looking after some little people and some old people, it still flies LOL.



Remember the pirate princess card I made a while ago? Well, I made a boy version of the same card. Essentially all I changed was the colour scheme and I added some star shaped brads instead of pink glitter for the eyes, and voila! Boy card. Almost too easy.
I used Lovely skull n bones, Rock & Roll gothic and Swirly background.

Tempting corset

This is my submission for the current Tempting Template call at Stamper's Sampler. It's a corset (if you're unfamiliar with this particular kind of undergarment/instrument of torture).


I used some Crate Paper from July's A la Tarte kit, some German scrap from Collage Stuff, and a couple of Odd Bird Planet stamps (Michelle's Big Scroll and Ooh la la). The pearls are Kaiser and the ribbon is from my ever increasing stash.

That rose is something I've learned to make recently. They're embarrassingly easy to make - a bit of cutting, a bit of quilling. LMK if you'd like a little demo/tutorial.

Pirate princess

Here's a card for a Pirate Princess:


I used stamps from Odd Bird Planet (Lovely Skull and Bones, Rock and Roll, Swirly Background). I attached the words to the image with a couple of silver jump rings so that it hangs. Here's a pic to show you what I mean:

My son Jake liked it, except for all the pink. He also offered a bunch of other suggestions to make this card a little more masculine. I'll work with those suggestions and come back and show you.
I'll miss his advice when he goes back to school next week LOL.

Lynne's birthday

Lynne is another lady from our ATC group who had a birthday recently. She loves House Mouse stamps, but seeing as I don't own any, I pulled out my Odd Bird Planet Homely Mouse stamp. Isn't he cute?
