Spooky Stampavie

Challenge #15 at Stampavie is Halloween. I thought this would be quite a challenge, because if you've seen the images, they're anything but scary!

Here's my card:

I used an image called Mouse, who is usually carrying a Christmas bauble. I coloured him with Copics, then cut him out carefully and made him carry a sign (a Melissa Frances Halloween sticker).

The spider web paper is from Making Memories, and the orange journaling card is from Fancy Pants.

Thanks for looking.

An inside and out card

I've noticed a trend lately - that of decorating the inside of a card as well as the outside. This is a card I made using Clear Artisitic Stamps - the Dragonfly Dreams set.

This is a close up of the front of the card (love those Stickles!):

And here is the inside:

There are some instructions for making this card here. Enjoy!

Spring love card

Here's a bright card I made using stamps from AnnaBelle Stamps. You can click on the photo to make it bigger.

I started with very pale green cardstock, then I used images from the Mum's Flowers set. I coloured using Copics, and added a few Sprinkles for the flower centres.

Today I received a couple of new stamp sets from AnnaBelle stamps, so stay tuned for some Christmas projects coming soon.

Home

I made this little project using products from Twiddleybits.

It's the Small Shadow Box, covered in Graphic 45 papers. The word is from the Home Sweet Home kit. Assembled, this box is only about the size of a card, so perfect for displaying small treasures.

I remember us having a key like this in the second place we ever lived. It was a second storey flat, and the old lady downstairs used to complain to my mother "your girls have been jumping again." My mum didn't speak too much English back then (still doesn't!), but she soon learned to say "What do you want me to do - they're kids!" We moved into our first real house the week I turned six, but I can still remember that key.

Thanks for looking, and if you'd like to see more projects using Twiddleybitz products, pop over to the ning site. There's some amazing work in the gallery!

A class for a cause

Anke from 1worldscrap told me about this effort, happening the first week of November. Iris from the Phillipines will be holding an online class, and all proceeds will go toward helping the unfortunate victims of a tropical storm.

Here's a sneak of the class:

Don't know about you, but I'm excited to be learning from someone who lives on the other side of the world, and I know the money is going to a great cause. Plus, it's only $5US, so it's a bargain to boot.

Another butterfly

I'm really liking butterflies lately. Here's a card I made with Clear Artistic Stamps:

I used the Garden Beauty set, with a little paper piecing and my trusty Copic markers. Here's a close up:

You can see the blurb about the card here.

Inkurable bag

Here's a bag I made for this month's challenge at Inkurable Stampers. This month you need to make a box, envelope or bag. Here's what I made:

I used some beautiful sturdy paper from Websters. The scalloped oval stamp is by Banana Frog, and the bird is Danielle from Odd Bird Planet.

Thanks for popping by!

Stampavie challenge #14

This time the challenge was to make a box. Here's what I made:

I used some Cosmo Earth Love papers - I adore these retro/vintage colours.

The image is from Stampavie, and is available at Lime Tart here in Australia. I added some adhesive pearls to the cupcake, and the image is coloured with copics. Some parts of the image are paper pieced (balloons, mouse's t shirt, cupcake icing). Here's the top of the box:

Thanks for looking.

October gallery

The October gallery is now open at Lime Tart. I love the colours this month, and the girls have come up with some amazing projects with their respective kits.

Here's a layout I did of little LouLou, using the rose I made in this step-by-step:

She's so photogenic - she has me mesmerised!

A quick layout

Here's a quick layout I did using products from Twiddleybitz:

The Colour Sprays are a wonderfully quick way to add heaps of impact on a project. You can give a light spray for a spattered look, or a heavier spray when you need intense colour.

There's a step-by-step you can follow for the layout on the Twiddleybitz design team blog.

World Card Making Day - Odd Bird Planet style.

Yay! It's here. Have you made a card yet? Here's something that might help you get inspired.

Some of the Odd Bird Planet DT members will be holding a challenge/blog hop. You will have 24 hours to complete any or all of challenges and post your take on the challenge(s) on your blog, then post the link on the blog of the person who posted that challenge.

You can also share chatter and your completed projects at Odd Bird Planeteer's Flickr Group.

So, what do you get for completing a challenge, other than the satisfaction of creating a great new project?

Each completed challenge will earn you an entry to win an A La Tarte Halloween kit, which contains cardstock, patterned paper, embellishments, a chipboard book, and the OBP Bat Gate stamp.

International people who complete challenges can win a $50 Gift Certificate to the OBP Store. Not bad eh?

Here's the list of blogs to visit to find out about challenges:

My challenge is POLKA DOT PINK. Here's my card:

I love pink and I love polka dots, so I'd love to see what you can come up with combining the two. You don't necessarily need to have pink polka dots, just something pink and something dotty on your card. Once you've made your card, post it to your blog, leave me a comment here at this post linking to your card. You have until 6am Sunday 4th October (PDT) to complete any or all of the challenges. Then stay tuned to find out who the winner is.

I used Lady with Handkerchief and Ooh la la images from Odd Bird Planet. I can't wait to see your creations!

Guest Designing

I am the special guest designer this month for a company called Clear Artisic Stamps. This is the first card I made:

Delicately sketched images - beautiful for embossing over a colourful background. I used my watercolour pencils, and I couldn't resist adding a little glitter to the dragonfly wings.

Pop over here and see more.
