Now that the shopping is done, all the gifts are wrapped, and the food for the next few days is organised (if not cooked), I can breathe a little easier. Almost lost the plot for a while there - that was close! At this point I can use the words of a good friend of mine "I've done my best, that's all I could do. You can't ask for anything more."
Here's a pic of one of the Christmas cards I made for this year:
I made just a few - I ran out of time in the end. The stamp is from StampIt, and that's birght red foil cardstock to contrast against the kraft cardstock. I decided on traditional red and green colours this year.
I wish everyone all the best at this time of year, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. It's a good time to sit and relect with family, and to make plans to start the new year afresh. Thank you for taking time to read my blog, it means a lot that someone out there shares my passion for this hobby.
I'm going to leave you with something I started making a few years ago:
These guys fill my world with sunshine and life-giving rain everyday. They make everything I do meaningful because they are ALWAYS watching. If there's one thing on my resolutions list for next year it is to be a better role model for these guys.
Season's Greetings everyone!

Cards from a Christmas Class
Here are some of the cards I taught for a Christmas class little while ago at Little Bits. I used the Yuletide Vol 2 stamp set from Darkroom Door, and a variety of vintage-looking papers.
Thanks for stopping by!
The Black Cherry StazOn ink was a real hit! It's quite a dark red, perfect for vintage Christmas cards.
Here's a fun card - I used one of the Photobooth ladies, layered on old text, and stuck a red felt hat on her. The ladies in the class had fun cutting the hats - we had every shape from long, pointed KluKlux to short, wide paddy hat, and everything in between. We had a good laugh at that!
The background for this card was made with a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Textured Textile - an oldie but a goodie), and some ink lightly rubbed to accentuate the raised areas. The stamp is by Artee.

AnnaBelle sketch #7
This week's sketch is a prize sketch, and to give everyone a better chance to get and entry in, it will actually run for 2 weeks instead of the usual one week. Here's the sketch:
and here's my card:
I have used a stamp from the Holly Branch set, and some Cherry mini Sprinkles.
More details and the DT samples can be found on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog. I do hope you'll play along!

Aaaaah la Tarte
I say aaaaah because this kit contained one of my all time favourite colour schemes. And kraft cardstock! I was in heaven.
Here's a simple card I made. I scored the kraft to give a diamond pattern, added a Hambly rub on doilie and a few little snippets of patterned paper. The stamp is one of the new Stampavie sentiment sets, also available for purchase separately at Lime Tart.
Here's a close up so you can see the scoring a little better:
The December gallery is up - awesome work once again from all the DT.

AnnaBelle sketch #6
Time for another sketch from AnnaBelle Stamps. Here it is:
and here's what I did with it:
I used my Prismacolor pencils to colour in. They are lovely to blend with. The stamps are from the Mum's Flowers set, and the words are from the I can fly set.
You can see what other girls on the design team have come up with here on the blog. And do let us know if you make something with this sketch - you can add a link over on the blog to your creation.
Thanks for looking!

Strutting
No - relax - no more tooting myself. For a while, anyway LOL. Don't want you getting sick of me.
The Lime Tart DT got to play with some Collections chipboard struts recently. Here's what I did with mine:

I used the Jenni Bowlin papers in my A la Tarte kit this month. I have big plans for this kit!
Pop over to Zest blog to see what the rest of the girls did with their struts - amazing stuff!

Annabelle Stamps sketch #5
Here's the next sketch at Annabelle stamps:
I used the My Garden image, some Rose Moka paper and my Copics to colour the image in. See the Sprinkles on the right hand side? They were born Blossom, a beautiful pink colour, but I coloured over them with my orange Copic pen to make them fit in with my colour scheme. Yeah - Copics work on Sprinkles!
And here's my take on it:

Now, if you'd like a chance to win a fabulous prize, all you need to do is make a card using the sketch above. You'll find more details here on the Annabelle Stamps blog.

My week got even better
Take a look at what arrived on Friday:
I feel very blessed (except for the bit where I have to work all weekend and I won't have much time to look through these wonderful magazines until Monday).
Thanks for stopping by!
There are five of my cards in there! It was a nice surprise I can tell you.
And then there was a second package from Stampington, and to my surprise, a couple of my pieces are in this magazine:

Give me an inch....
Something arrived in the mail that put a big smile on my face - the latest issue of Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft. In it is a project of mine using inchies:
I must say, the photographers and stylists at CS&P do a marvellous job! They make me look half good LOL.
