Coaster book cover

Finished! This is the front cover I made for the collaborative coaster book swap I've joined.

I loved how my page turned out, so I thought I'd stick with the formula for the cover.

I can't wait until I receive all of the pages and the book is complete. But that's just me being impatient. I know....how unusual LOL.

Happy Birthday Johanna!

I hope you had/are having a wonderful day.

A Coaster book

What a great idea - a book with the pages and covers made from drink coasters. When an online friend of mine Helen suggested a swap, I jumped right in.

We had to keep to a vintage children in cream/gold theme. Here is my page:

I used Melissa Frances paper, a Collections scroll, some fabric, crochet lace and a piece of acetate stitched over the photo.

I'll post the covers once I've finished them.

A card for all occasions

This is another card I made with this month's A la Tarte kit from Lime Tart.

This month's kit has a gorgeous stamp from the Stamp It new release, and some beautiful patterned papers from Prima. I fell so in love with the patterned side of them, that I almost forgot to turn them over. This card was made with the flip sides.

The gallery for May is now open for your viewing pleasure, and if you're into making your own embellishments, you're in for a real treat on Zest blog.

May Sketch world

Here's the wonderful sketch we had to work with this month at My Sketch World:

and here's my take on it.

I used Basic Grey 6x6 papers, and made some of those addictive lollipop flowers.

I'd love to see your take on it - pop over to the blog and follow the links to the forum to enter your card.

Picture to Page, here we come!

This is the morning before a show. I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and trepidation. I know I'll have fun, but shows really take it out of me. I'll be really really tired come Sunday night. I've booked the bath for a long hot soak.

The show is Picture to Page. It started out as a little show, but it has grown to a truly wonderful event. Lots of the smaller retailers will have stands at this show, so it's a great way to find out about all the little shops.

I'll be working at the Little Bits stand with Lesley, Kerry, Lynne and Kathie. I'm really looking forward to all the fun we're going to have - Kerry keeps me laughing all day, and that's no exaggeration.

Here are the name tags I made last night:

I used Making Memories Paperie paper, my cuttlebug alpha and some Collections products. That's Crackle Paint on the wings and dressform, and glitter (for Lesley the glitter queen) on the bodice.

The gallery opening for this month is just around the corner. Here are a couple of peeks at my projects with the A la Tarte to whet your appetite:

Earth Day winners..

...have been announced on the Odd Bird Planet blog. Congratulations ladies!

I'm having a few computer issues - I'll be back as soon as I've sorted them out. I'm afraid a sledgehammer may be required!
