My Mad News

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll know how much I love my Copics. Well, I've got myself another excuse to play with them - I made the Mad for Markers design team!

You can click on the blinkie to be transported to the shop front.

The announcement was made on Thursday on the blog. I'm so excited I get to work with some really talented and friendly Copic lovers. Stay tuned for news on challenges and tips and hints. I look forward to sharing what I know and learning from everyone else on the team.

it's been a while....

...since I last posted.

Lots has happened, including Easter. I hope everyone had a wonderful time - I spent lots of time with family and then a little time on my own while my family went interstate for a few days.

On the craft front, I have been busy, busy, busy! Some stuff I can't show yet, but here's a little ATC I made when I was all on my lonesome (and loving it!):

I made a batch of these to share with my ATC buddies at Little Bits next month.  The stamps are from Technique Tuesday, coloured with Copics, and the purple paper is ancient stock by Scrapbooking Australia, one of the first ever sheets of patterned paper I bought when storage space was not yet a problem.  Making this ATC felt good for a number of reasons - I used some paper I've had in my stash for too long, I made something to share, I used something new (the stamps) and I got to play with my Copics. I have an all-round good feeling about it :)

I'll be back soon with some mad news to share.

Play layout

The current theme at The Studio Challenges is "PLAY."  I could photograph my children all day at play, but I remembered this one photo I took last summer that put a big smile on my face for so many reasons.  Here it is on my layout:

It's a photo of Elouise playing hangman on a white board. Judging by the way her two older siblings scurried away when I approached, they had everything to do with the words poor innocent Lou was made to write. She would have been 4 years old at the time, and could write letters, but not read words yet.   Here's a close up of the photo:

Hope you can read the words ok. The top one says 'castle' and it's downhill from there.

Hmph.

Cardstock is Bazzill, patterned papers from Basic Grey (Hello Luscious 6x6 pad) and Graphic45 (On the Boardwalk 8x8 pad).

Thanks for looking.

This week.....

...has just flown! The children are on school holidays, so we're enjoying late nights and sleep ins.  After they tidy their rooms in the morning, I unleash them on the neighbourhood, unless we've got something to else to get done.

This morning we did have something else to do - dye some seam binding.  This was so much (messy!) fun.  The girls and I had a ball.  This is the result:

I'll be packing this to sell at the Buy Swap Sell at Little Bits this Sunday (11am til 2pm). I might put the remainder on Etsy, if I can work out how to open a store. If you're interested in some, please drop me a line (email addy can be found in my profile).

Right, off to enjoy another late night in preparation for another sleep in tomorrow :) Gotta love school holidays!

Another La-La Land card

Here's another card I made using Winter Marci.  This time I coloured her hair and skin with Copics, and paper pieced her clothing.

I think it took longer to fussy cut the image than it would have taken to colour with Copics, but this was a sample I made for a Copics beginners project class, and I wanted to keep it pretty simple.

The flowers and ribbon were also coloured with Copics. The 'thinking of you' stamp is by Stampin' Up, and the paper in the background is a Prima Notecard.

Thanks for looking! You can see heaps more work with La-La Land stamps in their Customer Gallery.

La La Land birthday card

My Rachel had her birthday late last month, and I never got around to sharing the card I made for her.  I used a stamp from a stamp company that's relatively new to our shores - La-La Land Crafts.  These stamps are selling like hot cakes at Little Bits!

Here's the card:

I coloured Winter Marci in with Cool Grey Copics. The patterned paper is Prima.

I've popped this card into the La-La Land Customer Gallery, where you too can share your La-La Land creations.

Thanks for stopping by.

Needed some rest

Well, as you can tell, last weekend really knocked me for six! Paperific was wonderful, but lots and lots of work, so I've taken some time to recover.

I realise I haven't posted the current challenge at The Studio Challenges. The challenge was to scrap about a place that is significant to you. Hands down - my special place is the beach. Here's my layout:

I used a photo I took at Wilson's Prom on Australia Day. It's the most wonderful beach - lots of safe area for the kids to play in. Just as I remember it from when I was a kid :)

I drybrushed the background with some white acrylic paint, the papers are from Graphic 45, the alpha is American Crafts and the starfish is from the Shell Museum at Lakes Entrance.  I wrote the journaling around the photo.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back soon with more stuff to show.
