Catching Up..

I've had a busy time blog-wise lately, and I'm just getting around to updating my publications posts.  This is one that should have gone up last month, but there was a delay in me receiving my copy, and, well here it is now:

I have a couple of cards in this issue, including a card using Stampavie stamps.

Stampavie are one of the many companies that offer publication incentives - it's worth checking this out if and when you yourself are published :).

You Can Do It Geisha Anya

Told you I'm in love with her:

This is the card I made for the Saturday Sketch over at The Greeting Farm's Club Anya and Friends. This is Geisha Anya, and I went with black for the hair this time:

I don't use the black Copic for black hair - here I used BV29, C3 and C5.

Thanks for stopping by!

A new release in silhouette

Floral Silhouettes is the name of the new release set from AnnaBelle Stamps:

Here's my first sample:

I have stamped the image onto acetate as well as the card front, then I punched a window through the card front and aligned the acetate image behind it.  There was potential there to make a bit of a shaker card but I didn't have anything to shake with me LOL.  The sentiment is beautiful too, isn't it?

This is another sample, this time I just stamped the silhouette over some pretty patterned paper (Basic Grey Kioshi):

This and all of the other new release sets will be available for purchase TODAY from the AnnaBelle Stamps website.

For your chance to win this set, find the little sneak peek of our next release on one of the design team blogs below:

Then pop over to the AnnaBelle Stamps blog and leave a comment to say you've found it. Easy!

I've got a little something else to show you....look...a little sneak peek of something:

you might need that little peek if you want to win yourself some new stamps ;)

Cover girl!

Yep - that's my card at the bottom:

This is the current issue (Vol 16 no 4), and I'm not only excited about the cover, but also because I have a number of projects throughout the magazine, and I get to share the excitement with some friends - Philippa, Julie and Rachael all have work in this issue as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Geisha

I'm in love with a stamp at the moment - it's Geisha Anya from The Greeting Farm.  This is what I did with it on the weekend:

Look at the hair!  I got sick of colouring her hair in black and wondered what it would look like in brown.  I quite like it.

The paper is from Alison Ellis.  Quite suitable I thought.

Lime Tart has a range of  The Greeting Farm stamps in stock now.  Visa card - brace yourself!

AnnaBelle Bluebells release

Feast your eyes on this beautiful new set from AnnaBelle Stamps:

Isn't it soft and pretty?  Here's a sample I made using my Copic markers:

and just because they're called Bluebells, doesn't mean they always need to be blue:

I think yellow is perfect for a get well card.

All of the new release sets will be available for purchase from the AnnaBelle Stamps website from the 28th June.

For your chance to win this set, hunt around on the blogs of the design team:

Hey Sweet Pea

Philippa at Lime Tart has a new (well, new to me) range of stamps called Sweet Pea.

I must say, that at first, they didn't grab me.  But look at that hair - it demands Copic treatment!!  Here's my little effort last weekend:

Papers are Kaiser, the trim is Websters, and the words are old K&Co (they came in a pail, about 7 million of the little suckers).

Thanks for looking.

Gratitude

Sometimes I need a reminder to look around and be thankful for what I have around me.

A splash of colour helps lift the spirit and convey a very important sentiment - gratitude.

A big thanks goes to everyone who visits my little blog - you make me feel a little less guilty about all the time I spend in front of the computer instead of doing housework (bleh).

AnnaBelle Stamps release day!

Hello, and welcome to the AnnaBelle Stamps new releases.  We'll be focusing on one set at a time, and first up is the awesome set called Tree-MEN-dous:

It's a great set for that difficult-to-design-for group of people in our lives - MEN! As you can see, it's going to be a versatile set as it covers both Fathers' Day and birthdays, as well as just about all the men in our lives (Dad, son, uncle, Grandpa etc).

Here's a sample I've made with this set:

I curved the acrylic stamp to mimic the waves in the patterned paper.

Here's another sample:

The components of the tree (trunk, leaves, sign, word) are all separate, so they can be stamped with different colours.  And of course being transparent, they are so easy to position.

This and the other new release sets will be available for purchase from the AnnaBelle Stamps website from the 28th June.

Now, it wouldn't be half as exciting to have a new release if there weren't prizes involved, right?

We're going to send you on a little bit of a treasure hunt.  There is a little sneak peek of the next set on the blog of one of the design team members listed here:

Your mission is to find the sneak peek, then leave a comment on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog for a chance to win.  Not too hard now, is it?  Hop to it - I'll be back in a couple of days with another new release I'm sure you'll love.

The gallery containing samples from our June kits is now open at Lime Tart.  I had a play with the A la Tarte kit this month, and here is a layout I completed:

Love these colours together!

Pop in to the gallery and check out the awesome work from Julie, Rachael and our wonderful guest designer Tanya.  While you're at the website, don't forget to check out Zest blog today - an awesome post on shading with Copic markers from Nic.

another feather in my cap

Last week I found out that I had a project published in Scrapbooking Memories magazine - Vol 12 No 6.  Here's the cover:

I popped into the shops after school to pick up a copy, and the kids and I searched the magazine until we found the page.  Elouise was so excited!  It was this project:

I made this about a year ago, using heaps of Twiddleybitz pieces, some glitter and some paint. There are some photos on the Ning if you'd like to pop over for a look.

This marks my first time published in a scrapbooking magazine. I'm pretty excited. Thanks for looking :)

AnnaBelle Stamps new release giveaways!

There's nothing more exciting for me than a new release!  We've got lots of fun and excitement in store for everyone in the coming weeks at AnnaBelle Stamps.  From today until the 21st June, we're running a little celebration to help us spread the word about the new release.  Here's what you need to do to get your name in the draw for some amazing prizes:

1 Grab the blinkie from the sidebar on the AnnaBelle blog, and place it on your blog.  You'll need to copy and paste the text underneath the blinkie into an HTML gadget (in Blogger: click Design, then click Add Gadget and select HTML/Javascript).  Remember to link your post to the AnnaBelle blog.

2 Tell your friends about the new release and previews starting 22nd June in a post on your blog.

3 Once your post is done on your blog, come back to the AnnaBelle blog and add a link to your post with Inlinkz.

4 Become a follower of the AnnaBelle blog if you aren't already.  You wouldn't want to miss out on the fun and giveaways!

The contest ends 12pm AEST Monday 21st June.

Don't have a blog?  Don't worry - there will be more chances to win from June 22nd when we reveal the first set.

I can't wait!  I'm off to make some more samples to show you in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to both this blog and the AnnaBelle blog too.

Say it in....

...pink and green.  That's the challenge this week at AnnaBelle Stamps.  Here's my card:

I used stamps from the Flowers with Love set, stamped with StazOn Olive green and coloured with Copics.  Normally StazOn and Copics don't mix, but sometimes you can get away with it if you pounce the colour on instead of rubbing across the lines.  Here's a close up:

You'll also notice that the stem of the flower is curved - these acrylic stamps are flexible, so it's just a matter of positioning it curved on the block.  Here's a pic of my very hard-working acrylic block with the stamp on it:

(Some may call this block dirty, I call it hard-working LOL).

If you're wanting to pick up some AnnaBelle stamps, this weekend is your lucky weekend!  AnnaBelle Stamps are having a very handy 15% off all stamps, sprinkles and ribbons.  This weekend only (Sat 12-Sun 13 June).

Don't forget we have our sketch challenge running until next week - if you can spare some time this weekend, why not whip up an entry to be in the draw for a prize?  You can find the details here.

Stay tuned for June15 - if you like stamps, and you like new things, this will be right up your alley!

Aubergine house project published

About a year ago, Greta got a few of us to make a house using Collections products and the colour aubergine.  Here's my house:

Wonderful news - the whole lot of them were published!  This week I received my contributor copy - here's the cover:

Our little collection of houses ended up over 5 pages of this publication!  I'm over the moon to be able to share this joy with some wonderful friends.

Thanks Greta for organising us!

Tiles for Debbie

While I was away at camp a couple of weeks ago, I worked on these tiles for Debbie.

They were meant for her birthday in MARCH! I'm sorry they are so late Debbie!  Debbie chose the colours cream, black and crimson.

Here are a couple of my favourite tiles.  This is the spool Audrey taught me how to make at SIA:

And this is a simple star, covered with tea-stained muslin:

Thank you for your patience Debbie!

Happy Birthday Greta

Here's the card I made for Greta for her birthday earlier this week:

I heard Greta likes Collections, so I've used all new stuff on it, including the white damask technique Julie taught us at SIA.

I also completed some tiles for her - I'll post a pic of those soon.

Opals butterfly

Here's a card I made using a Twiddleybitz butterfly:

I used Opals embossing powders on the butterfly - first hot pink, then I sprinkled orange powder into the molted pink, then heated again.  The colours mixed to give a marble pattern. It looks awesome IRL.

The flowers are Kaiser, and the rub on is Melissa Frances.  I used my Martha Stewart loopy punch for the edge.

Thanks for looking, and don't forget to enjoy the little things!

Picket your next card

Here's a simple card I made using a Twiddleybitz fence:

I painted the fence with white crackle paint, and then threaded the little roses and punched leaves through the fence.  The roses are wired, so I wrapped a couple of wires around a thin paintbrush to look like tendrils ( I KNOW roses don't have tendrils, but I put them in anyway).  To finish it off, I picked a word from a Darkroom Door wordstrip.

Here's a close up:

If you squint, you can just make out the crackle.

All of these products are available from my LSS Little Bits.  Tell em Teresa sent ya!

AnnaBelle Sketch #23

Howdy, and welcome to another AnnaBelle Stamps Bling Sketch.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I have used images from the Mum's Flowers set, together with some silver sprinkles.  I coloured the images with Copics:

Sun: Y11 Snail: YG91, E77 Grass: G82 Stems: G85 Flowers: V91, V95, E71 Butterfly: B95, B97 Outline: BG10

Here's a close up of the butterfly:

You can find details of the challenge here - I do hope you'll play along.  This fortnight's prize is a couple of jars of Blackcurrant Metallic Sprinkles - yum!

The Greeting Farm Retro Chic

Here's my entry for the June release party competition at The Greeting Farm:

I used an image called Cheeky Glamour, coloured in Copics, teamed with papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop pad to achieve a retro look.  I think I need some more practice with hair, but here's a close up of the colouring anyway:

Skin: E50, E51, E02
Hair: E50, E51, E44, E53
Clothes: Y11, YG91, W3, R27, R29
Mirror: BG34, R27

You can find details of the competition here, and if you're a fan of The Greeting Farm images, stay tuned - they might be coming to one of my favourite online stores really soon!

Australia's Copic Card Challenge

I did little else but work on this today.  That's not true at all, I got a lot done, but most of it was housework, and that sort of talk has no place here on my happy blog!

For this challenge, we have to use three particular Copic colours (E02, Y06 and BV02) on a card.  Not three colours I'd normally put together myself, but I can roll with it.  Here's my card:

A bit of flick feather blending on the dress, scarf and bag, and a bit of experimenting with hair colour, and the image was coloured.  I thought I'd ground her on some brickwork, as seen on Andrea's video, and then all I had to do was find some co-ordinating paper.  The ribbon and diamonds were coloured with Copics too.

I wanted to highlight some areas with glitter, so I used my clear Spica pen.  Here's a close up:

See along the bottom of her dress?  I'm glad this challenge will be judged in person - I find it hard to capture glitter/shimmer with a camera.

You've still got a couple of days to enter - see all the details here. The prize is well worth the effort I tell ya!

Stripes card

This is a card I made for a submission call for Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft:

I used a Darkroom Door stamp, and papers and embellishments from the November 2009 A la Tarte kit from Lime Tart.

It appears in the current issue and once again, I'm thrilled with the photography in the magazine (it's a squillion times better than mine LOL). Here's the cover:

I'm off to bed to read this from cover to cover!
