A Challenge with Michelle Lupton

I was invited by the lovely Michelle Lupton to participate in her annual "Challenge me a Christmas Card," where she invites a guest to choose a theme and then we both create a card.

Seeing as it's Halloween today, I went with "Creepy Christmas." This gave me an opportunity to dust off some neglected but very much loved stamps from Stampotique to create this:

Stamps: Dwindled, Christmas Cubed by Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney, Web by Jo Capper-Sandon
Coloured with Copic markers. The Web stamp only covered half the card front so I have filled in the right hand side with a Copic Multiliner.

another Sweetmoves card

Hi there folks! I'm back again with another card using the Sweetmoves stamp from Stampotique:

For this card I used Dylusions ink sprays to make my background. This is such a simple technique - pop on over to the Kazmos Kreationz blog to see how I did it.

The lovely Karen from Kazmos Kreations has asked me to do a little bit of arty work for her :) Karen is a lady after my own heart - arty, fun, and one of the most modestly creative people I know. I have been attending art journaling classes with her for a while now, and my daughters look forward to school holidays so that they can do classes at Karen's too.

For some unknown reason, I woke up before 7am on the first day of the year. With the house all quiet and breakfast out of the way, I got out my brand new Home Sweet Home stamp from Stampotique and got to doodling:

11th Hour Stampotique Designers Challenge

I made this tag for the Stampotique Designers Challenge Design Team Call using all the things I'm loving at the moment:

...paint, stencils, tags, collage, and most of all stamps! I used Jo's Star and Pigtails here, and outlined the stars with a white gel pen. The words 'live it up' come from the Sweet Treats wordstrip.

When I'm not designing with a particular audience and guidelines in mind, I think this collagey, painty, fun style is where my heart takes me. I would love to design for Stampotique because of the huge variety of images available - there really is something for everyone. I have admired the work of the design team for the longest time, and it would be an absolute honour to be among them.

Wish me luck with my entry, that I fear has just missed the deadline!

Stampotique challenge

The challenge at the Stampotique Designer's blog at the moment is SDC22 - put on your best mask.  I'm always amazed at the results I get with masking - it's a technique I certainly want to do more with this year :)

Here's my card:

 I stamped the Welcome Door, then Perl to poke out behind it, and then some stripes on top. Coloured with Copics (very carefully because I stamped with StazOn).  I added a little present from the Christmas 5 sided cube with a little button tied on it for a bit of dimension.

The card tells a little story to me - it's like someone's left the gift on the doorstep, knocked on the door and run off LOL.

Girly girl card

I made this card for the current challenge on the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog:

I used the Moth Fab Stampotique image, coloured her with my Copics and added some stickles to her purse.  The ribbon is seam binding I dyed myself with a Twiddleybitz colour spray, and the swirly image is by Tim Holtz.
