I just felt like it.

I've been wanting to try felting for a long time. Years. So when my friend Greta asked if anyone was interested in doing a workshop, I jumped at the chance. My other good friend Jo was also interested, so last Saturday was the day  we went along to the magical studio of Elizabeth Armstrong.

I arrived right on 10am, so we got straight to work. My first decision for the day was to choose a skein of wool - OH NO! It was almost too hard.  My hands were flapping I tell ya! This is what I had to choose from:

Can you see the problem I had? They are ALL beautiful - how was I going to choose? And that's when Elizabeth said "Just think of this as your first one" and then I relaxed and picked the colourful one in the middle on the fourth row. Not colours I'd normally go for, but I was out of my usual zone anyway.

We had so much fun!  Here's a shot of the three of us with our finished pieces:

And here's a close up of my felt and flower:

Elizabeth was a wonderfully patient, knowledgeable teacher, and I look forward to taking more workshops with her in the very near future.
