Gratitude

Don't those owls look cute together?

I'm storing this idea for the end of year as a thank you for teachers.

The owls are from Twiddleybitz, and they come in a set of six. All I did was colour the chipboard in with black texta - too easy!

Thanks for looking, and for all of your wonderful comments.  I'm grateful you choose to stop by my blog - thank you!

AnnaBelle Sketch #16

Here's this week's sketch:

and here's my card:

Here's a close up of the little butterfly:

I used stamps from the Mum's Flowers stamp set, and some Sprinkles in a delicious colour called Blossom.

You can see the design team's cards on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog, where you'll also find that the challenge format has been changed.  We've decided to run the challenges for two weeks instead of one, and here's the exciting part - there will be a prize for EVERY challenge!  The prize for this sketch is the stamp set I Can Fly - it's a really sweet little set:
We'd love it if you played along - you don't even need to use AnnaBelle Stamps if you don't own any.  Click here for more details.

Motivet sketch challenge week 7

Here's the card I made for this week's challenge on the Motivet blog:

I used paper and flowers from the March A la Tarte kit, and the stamp is Ballerina Hilda coloured with Copic markers. These images are so easy to colour in - all the shading is virutally done for you :)

This card might end up being for my daughter Rachel who turns 7 very soon.  She would dearly love to learn ballet, so if Mummy can get her act together, that's the surprise she might be getting very soon.

Thanks for looking.

Green cards...

Here's my last project as Guest Artist at Darkroom Door:

A set of four cards using Viva la Flora filmstrips, Meadow 12 x 12 paper and some sheets from the Floral Notepaper pad.  You can see the whole set and a list of products in more detail on the Darkroom Door blog.

I had so much fun coming up with projects for Darkroom Door. It was a real honour being asked. Thanks  for kicking my year off with such excitement Rachel!

I can't wait to see what tomorrow's announcement is going to be on the blog- it's sure to contain a huge dose of awesomeness!

AnnaBelle stamps sketch #15

Yay!  Friday already!! (you'll only catch me being so happy it's Friday when I don't have to work on the weekend LOL).

It's time for another bling sketch challenge - you can see all the details on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog.

Here's the sketch, designed by someone you know quite well:

and here's my card:

Those large scallops were a challenge I tell you.  I ended up tracing around a spool of thread - now that's a bit old school in this time of electronic cutting machines!

The stamps are from the I can Fly set,  and the papers are Delish High Tea.  The sprinkles are Blossom, which I coloured with an orange Copic marker to make them match the paper a bit better.  Yeah - a great discovery - Copics dry on Sprinkles!

Tiles for Kathy

Here I am a couple of days later as promised with the tiles I made for Kathy:

Kathy chose cream, dark red, brown/sepia, navy as her colours.  Can you guess which colour I forgot to incorporate and had to add at the last minute?  It starts with R and ends in D.

Thanks for looking.

Tiles for Ness

A while ago, a little group of us decided it would be nice to own a tile canvas of our own (you can see the one we made for Jo here), and so we decided that for our birthdays, we would each make 16 little 3.5cm square tiles.  While this won't be enough to cover and entire canvas, it would give us a jolly good start.

These are some tiles I made for Ness in January:

I think I took photos, edited them, and forgot to post them to my blog.

This is my favourite tile:

...not because it's any better than the others, but because I have a little obsession with birds.

The thing that reminded me about Ness's tiles was I was about to write a post about Kathy's tiles, which are packed and ready to send (and only 2 weeks late - oops, my bad).  I'm going to wait a couple of days and then post a pic of them.  I'd like Kathy to receive them before she sees a photo of them ;)

the simple things....

This is my latest project featured on the Darkroom Door blog - a set of cards using the Trees set of stamps:

It was the quickest set of cards to make as a gift - I tied them with string and added a distressed tag to finish it all off.  The secret is in the quality of the paper I used.  See the cards on the Darkroom Door blog.

Motivet week 6 Challenge

Here's my card for the next Motivet challenge well before deadline too :)  I used the digi image they are giving away on their blog.  Not long until my real rubber stamps arrive from Lime Tart woo hoo!

I coloured the image with Copics, and the patterned papers are from Cosmo Cricket.

You can read all about this challenge on the Motivet blog.  Thanks for stopping by.

What are you doing today?

I'll be in a sweet sugary heaven:

or Happy Valenday's Time if you're my four year old daughter!  Hope your day is filled with love and happiness.

Motivet week 5 sketch

I totally missed the deadline for this, but I thought I'd share anyway.  This is my card for the week 5 sketch using a free digital image you can find on the Motivet blog:

Philippa is getting a range of Motivet stamps in at Lime Tart.  You can preorder them, and you won't even have to wait too long for them at all.

I tend to stamp and colour two images at a time (because I so often fudge one up LOL), but this time they both turned out ok.  So while I had all the papers out, I thought I'd make one more card.  Here's that one:

Thanks for looking!

AnnaBelle Stamps sketch #14

Here's the sketch:

and with this Sunday being Valentine's day, how could I go past this image from Elephant Valentine?

The image is coloured with Copics, and the papers are from Basic Grey (Junebug).  The hearts are Chilli Hearts, and there's also a little Chilli Sprinkle in the centre of the flower.

The rest of the girls on the design team have done a wonderful job with their cards.  You can see them on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog.

Thanks for looking!

a class this Saturday

I will be teaching a class at Little Bits this Saturday - Cuttlebugged Cards.  This is a class for people who have bought a Cuttlebug and haven't had a good play on it yet.  It's also a good class for people thinking of buying one - so they can see just what this baby can do!

Here's a peek at one of the cards we'll be making:

There are a couple of spots left, so contact Lesley if you're interested in coming along.  Classes are great value - just $25 all inclusive.  Contact details can be found on the Little Bits website.

my ATC binder

Here's how I decorated my new Darkroom Door ATC binder:

You can see the whole thing at the Darkroom Door blog, including a step by step.

Here's what I've done to the spine:

This surface is just wonderful to stamp on - I reckon every stamper should experience it at least once :)

I'll be using this to store the ATCs I get from the swaps Rachel runs.  The next one due at the end of this month has a Black, White and Red theme - one of my favourite combinations.  You can read about the swaps here, and you can find the themes in the left hand column of the blog.  I look forward to swapping with everyone!

AnnaBelle Sketch #13

Yay - I made it on a Friday with hours to spare.  If these keeps up, I'll be in danger of getting organised!

Here's this week's sketch:

and here's my card:

The scroll stamps are from the Flourishes set.  I stuck a Toffee sprinkle on each dot to make the bling scrolls - this is fast becoming my favourite Sprinkle colour.  I also used some Pearl Hearts (one in each size), and the word love is from the Mum's Flowers set.  The patterned paper is Websters Pages, and the larger heart is cut with a Cuttlebug die.  The smaller heart is cut by hand.

You'll find a heap of beautiful samples from the rest of the design team on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog.  Thanks for looking!

More exciting news..

...I didn't want to keep you waiting too long, so here I am, sharing more excitement.

Rachel Greig has invited me to be Guest Artist at Darkroom Door this month!  To say I was thrilled is a gross understatement.  To be invited to contribute to a fantastic blog, using products I just adore is a dream come true.

Here's my first project, a little concertina book made with tags:

You can see it all - front and back - on the Darkroom Door blog.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you!

Exciting times

I've kept this under my hat for a while (as best I can LOL), but it'll be out at the end of the month, and the preview went out a couple of weeks ago, so I guess it's ok to share.

I was asked to be Guest Artist in one of my favourite magazines - Take Ten (the Stampington publication).  I can't even describe the thrill of it all! It'll be in the very next issue, due out on the 1st of March.  I can't wait!

The preview came out in the Stampington Newsletter Creative Impulse.  The magazine has undergone some changes, and the next issue will have a whole new look.  Here's a peek from the newsletter:

I almost hyperventilated when I saw my name in big letters (including a couple of capitals).

I'll have some more exciting news to share very, very soon.  I had a feeling 2010 was going to be a big year!

AnnaBelle Stamps sketch #12

I totally missed Friday, didn't I?  I've been busy getting the children organised for the new school year.  It was hard getting them off to bed tonight, let me tell you!

Anyway, here's this week's sketch:

and here's my card:

The stamp is from the Flowers with Love set, coloured with Copics.  I used Sprinkles in a colour called Toffee (yum!), and the paper is by Delish.

We would love it if you played along too, and this week is extra sweet - there's a prize involved.  You can see the details and some more samples by the design team here.

Thanks for looking!
