Tooting

I'm in recovery from Paperific.  It was a fantastic show - the crowd numbers were up from last year I believe, and there was a wonderful atmosphere all weekend.

I'll be back soon with photos etc, but I just wanted to pop in and toot if you'll indulge me :)

The multi talented Philippa Barr has written an article for the Aussie Scrap Source blog, featuring cards using Copics and the delightful Hero Arts girly stamps. She was kind enough to include a couple of my cards in the article, among some beautiful creations she found on various blogs.

I was honoured to be asked by Rachel to create some ATCs for Darkroom Door with a couple of their new stamp sets. The Champs Elysee set is being featured today on the blog, so pop on over and leave some love! Here's a little sneak of one of my ATCs:

Lastly, I'm told by Tanya (because I don't have my copy yet) that I am featured in this month's Scrapbooking Memories Portrait of a Scrapbooker section.  Here's the cover:

Thanks for listening to me toot my own horn, but let's face it, if I don't do it, who will?  LOL

Make and Take

Here's what I ran today on the make and take table for Twiddleybitz at Paperific today:

I rushed home to make a card for a birthday party Lou will attend over the weekend.  Here it is:

too easy, and so pretty! The flash photography is a little harsh, but you get the picture!

If you're going to the show, don't forget to drop in to the Twiddleybitz booth to book a class, do a make and take, and check out an amazing booth with loads of samples from a very talented design team. Look forward to seeing you there!

I blame Paperific

Sorry about the lack of posts lately - I've been busy behind the scenes.  The exciting thing this weekend is Paperific, where I'll be teaching a couple of classes. I know I've posted about them before, but I've got some fresh sneaks :)

The first is for Scraptacular - it's a quick one hour layout. We're using beautiful Webster's Pages papers:

and the second is for Twiddleybitz - we'll do four quick cards in an hour:

If you've got an hour to spare while you're at the show, why not pop in and do a class?  You can book at the stands while you're at the show.

I hope to see you there!

August Lime Tart

I was delighted to get to play with the August A la Tarte kit (which sadly has sold out!).  Here's an A4 layout I did:

Love love love these colours!  They were so exciting to work with. I think I'm hooked on A4 layouts LOL.

You can see more views of this layout plus a bunch of other projects I made with this kit in this month's gallery.  It also contains brilliant work from Julie and Tanya. Tanya was our Guest Design Team member we just couldn't let go - she is now a permanent fixture at Lime Tart. Yay!

Say it with a bow!

That's the challenge at the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog today - make a card with a bow on it.  Here's my card:

I've used one of the new release stamp sets - Party Animals II.  If you're quick and you purchase this stamp set together with the two other new releases, you'll score yourself a Petals Kit in your choice of colour.

Thanks for stopping by, and especially for any comments you leave for me :)

AnnaBelle Stamps new release - Hold a Candle

Woo Hoo!  This is the third and last set being released this month.  It's called Hold a Candle, and it's now available for purchase, as are the other two sets we've released this month from AnnaBelle Stamps.  Here's Hold a Candle:

And here's my card:

I used some Kaiser 6x6 pad papers, and copics for the flame. It's such a bold set of stamps - it screams bright colours, don't you think? Fabulous for kids' birthdays, and oh boy do I have my fair share of them this year!

If you'd like to win yourself this set, leave a comment here, then pop over to the AnnaBelle Stamps blog and comment there too.

As I said before, these stamps are now available for purchase, and if you're purchasing all three new release sets, there's a little gift for you included - it's a Petals kit (your choice of colour).

Thanks for stopping by, and for all of your wonderful comments too.

AnnaBelle Stamps preview - Party Animals II

When one set of cute little party animals is not enough - we give you a second set!  Here are the new stamps we're previewing today:

And here's my card:

I love the little paw print tracks - I put the stamp on my mounting block with a little kink in it (that's the beauty of flexible clear stamps!), just for a bit of fun. It made quite a handy border.

Leave a comment here at this post, and then pop over to the AnnaBelle Stamps blog for more information on getting yourself into the draw for a prize.  You'll find links to the blogs of the rest of the design team there too.

We've got one more set to preview this month on the 19th, and then all of these sets will be available for purchase.  I'll bet there will be a special offer too ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

AnnaBelle Stamps - Thoughtful Stems preview

(Oh boy - running behind.  Apologies for getting this up so late!)

We have three brand new sets being released at AnnaBelle Stamps this month.  Here's the first one:

It's called Thoughtful Stems, and is aimed toward the sympathy card.  The design team have made some wonderful cards with this set, so make sure you pop around to all of the blogs and leave a comment - there's a prize for all who do, and you can find more details about this on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog.

Here's my card:

I stamped on vellum with white ink, and then stitched the vellum panel to some kraft cardstock.  The two white flowers are from the White Petals kit.

Thanks for stopping by, and I'll be back soon with a preview of the next set.

Lime Tart sneaks

Here's a little sneak of a card I made with my A la Tarte kit this month:

I just loved working with these delicious colours - and butterflies oh my!

I did a Step-by-Step too - I made a little book that looks like this:

The gallery will be opening soon, so stay tuned for that - it's going to be just awesome!

AnnaBelle Stamps Bling Sketch #28

Hiya!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic week.

Here's the sketch for this fortnight's challenge:

and here's my sample:

I've used stamps from the Ballerina Rose stamp set, and I thought I'd give my very neglected watercolour pencils some attention instead of using Copics. I also sponged some chalks on the edges of the centre panel - just lightly. The Sprinkles you see here are 4mm Artichoke, and are really easy to apply using a Quickie Glue Pen.

If you'd like to play along and put yourself in the running for a prize, then check out the details on the AnnaBelle Stamps blog.  Remember, you don't have to use AnnaBelle Stamps if you don't own any, so absolutely anyone can join in the fun.

Speaking of fun, we've got some brand new sets we'll be releasing from the 15th of the month (not long to wait now!).  We'll have our usual giveaways, so be sure to visit again in a couple of days.

...and the winner is......

The winner of my Twiddleybitz Blog Hop giveaway is.....

Please email me (click on the 'view my profile' link under my photo in the sidebar) with your address so I can get your prize out to you.  Congratulations!

To everyone else who stopped by and left a comment on my post - thank you. It's so nice to have your ego stroked every now and again :) I wish I had a prize for each of you.  I'm trying to get around to your blogs (those who have left a link) for a visit over the next day or so. If you missed the whole thing, you can start at the beginning at Carole's blog.

A huge thanks must go to our most wonderful design team coordinator Tiff Sawyer who put this whole blog hop together.  You are amazing!

And none of this would have been possible without the creative minds of Nic and Andy, the wonderful people behind Twiddleybitz.  From the moment I laid my hands on my first Twiddleybitz chipboard piece, I knew it was special.

You can get your hands on some Twiddleybitz through your local retailer, and if you're in Melbourne, you're lucky enough to be able to see the team at Paperific in just a couple of weeks.  Why not do the Twiddleybitz card class while you're there?

Let's go to the hop

Yaaaay! It's my turn to show a project on this weekend's

TWIDDLEYBITZ BLOG HOP!

Along with a plethora of chipboard products, Twiddleybitz also cut things from MDF and wood. I used one of these wooden products for my blog hop project - it's the small Winged Heart Shadow Box:

I painted it using some special copper paint my friend Lynne gave me (thanks Lynne!), and then I sprayed it with the patina spray. Seeing as it's made of wood, I didn't have to worry about the piece warping. I added a Fleur de Lys in copper for contrast right at the top there. The photo is a black and white of my daughter Rachel's tiny feet when she was just six weeks old.

Here's a close up of the bottom right:

I made the little cherub medallion with some air dry clay, and painted it with the same copper paint. I just added less patina.; And what project of mine would be complete without a flower of some sort?; These roses are Prima and Green Tara. The little sticker letters are Adorn It.

This was a fun, quick project to put together - and unbelievably easy to assemble.

Now, if you'd like to leave me a little comment before midnight Monday (check the clock in my sidebar), I'll enter your name in the draw to win a little pack of my favourite pieces of Twiddleybitz chipboard. I'll announce the winner on Tuesday morning.

If you're in a prize draw mood, pop over to the Twiddleybitz Ning (scroll down under the photos for the forum), where you'll find more information about our blog hop as well as more opportunities to win some prizes.Let's face it, I don't think there will ever be a time in my life when I won't want more chipboard LOL.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you enjoyed looking at my project.  The next stop on the Twiddleybitz Blog Hop is the blog of the uber talented Jilly.  She'll have a totally awesome project to show you from 6pm tonight.
Happy Hopping people!!

Published

I've got work in a couple of magazines this month.  The first is Scrapbooking Memories Vol 12 No 8. I have a layout and a card in there, here's the cover:

(This magazine is bigger than my scanner, so I've cut a bit off accidentally LOL)

And the second magazine is Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft Vol 16 No 5. Here's the cover:

I've got a couple of cards in there - one is a Fathers' Day card and one is for the Jade, Fuschia, Orange colour challenge. Once again I'm amazed at the photography in this publication - they stage things so beautifully.

Thanks for listening to my toots :)
