Betsy's Serviette Challenge

At the very last lunch, on the very last day at the camp in New Zealand, I was shovelling evil amounts of dessert into my mouth when a few of the ladies around me noticed the beautiful serviettes we had been provided.

In jumped Miss Betsy with a challenge: make a card with this serviette. Never one to shy away from a challenge, I accepted with the proviso that I be given extra time to make my card because of all the travelling I had to do and the jet lag (?!) I would have to deal with upon my return.

Roll forward a couple of weeks, Miss Betsy has just posted her beautiful card here, which reminded me to edit my photos and post mine too. Here t'is:

I stuck the serviette to some cardstock and cut around lots of the little pieces and mounted them with mounting squares to create a paper tole effect. Here's a side shot:

Lots of little squares! The stamp is from Darkroom Door's All Occasions set.

I enjoyed making this card immensely, and I'm extra happy with myself for having my mother's day card sorted a whole month early.

Betsy, thank you so much for the challenge. I'm thinking up something fiendish to challenge you with, so stay tuned!
