Happy Anniversary

Yesterday (26th) was our 8th wedding anniversary. Yep........8 years. You get less time for some violent crimes!
Sammy came home with a lovely bunch of lilies, and we commented that this is the first bunch of flowers he's given me and he hasn't been in the doghouse. Even after 8 years we can still share a laugh, occasionally sometimes.
This is the card I made Sammy (apologies for the dark photo). I got the idea from someone on the design team of justjohanna rubber stamps. He didn't like what I wrote inside. It reads "Now that we've been married for so long, it's time I told you secret - I was not born a woman." He didn't think that was funny at all. So I told him to grab me a beer from the fridge, and I sat down to watch tv while he cooked dinner and bathed the kids. He looked upset, but I'm sure if I ignore him he'll feel better soon.
I am of course joking. We had a lovely evening - settling the kids, then sitting down to watch some tv, and then (this is the best bit) I got to lance Sammy's infected ingrown toe nail. Ace!
Happy anniversary darling - you've got another 9 toes, so that's potentially another 9 years we'll be together.
XOXOX

Busy Busy!

Where does my time go? I've got all these ideas in my head of projects I want to do, but never seem get around to trying them out.

This is a project I've been toying with in my head for ages, and I finally got it out. It's like giving birth (yeah- just as painful!) What a relief it turned out ok. It's a journal cover I made to display at Little Bits in Keysborough, and looks like I'll be teaching a class in the next couple of months. It'll be one of those super-fun Sunday classes. Stay tuned....

Let me know what you think.

Birthday month

September would have to be one of our busiest months for birthdays (after March). It includes my birthday, and this year I turned 28 (again). I love this month - the sun feels beautifully warm on my skin after the cold of winter. And haven't we had some wonderfully sunny days?

Here are a couple of cards I've made this week. One is for our friends' daughter Carli who turned 2, and the other is for our brother-in-law Charlie, who turned 34. Can you guess which is which?

Father's Day

YIKES! What do you do when you get home from work on Father's Day and realise you haven't made a card for any of the three dads you should have made a card for?? You get your skates on and make some quick cards - that's what!!

The brown card (with raindrops on it - the cloud saw me with my camera out and got incontinent), is one I made for my father-in-law. It's got a watering can and a spade on it. He likes to come around and surprise us by cutting down trees and trimming our hedges while we're not home.

The card with the circle on it is one I made for my Dad. The idea is that he can use the keyring for his keys, if I ever get around to dipping it into molten clear UTEE. The man has never owned a keyring, and never lost his keys. On the other hand I have a keyring and am always misplacing mine. Is there a take-home message in that?

The silver one is one I made for my husband Sammy. I thought I'd do it Industria. It's quick, easy and masculine. My husband asked if I found the rusty washer in his tool box. I'll say no more about his handyman skills, or how often the unopened packets of stuff in the toolbox get used.

Well that's it for now. Hoping to get some work done tonight, so I can post again soon.
