Kitchen Tea Card

This is the card I made for Amanda for her kitchen tea. That girl is by Paper Candy and is an old favourite. I haven't used her in a while, it was nice to get reacquainted.

Stressed? Make cupcakes!

The children are home on school holidays (it therefore follows that I am temporarily insane). I was trying to get a few things finished and getting nowhere, so I stopped and made cupcakes with the kids. Couldn't decide - white ones with pink icing, or chocolate ones with chocolate icing. Argue argue argue, then compromise with delicious results!

World Card Making Day

Yep - there IS such a thing! Click on the picture of Al the owl below, and it'll take you to some information about the extravaganza justjohanna is hosting to celebrate this wonderful day.

It's so exciting to be a part of an international event like this, and there's even some fabulous prizes up for grabs. You don't need to use justjohanna stamps to enter - go ahead and mark it in your diaries now! I'll be hosting a challenge between 6-9pm US time (or 11am-2pm Melbourne time). Look forward to seeing your entries!

A wedding!

Our beautiful niece Amanda will be married in a couple of weeks time. Her wonderful Aunt Teresa (me, that is) is busy getting a few things finished for the big day. This is a photo of one of the placecards I'm whipping up:

And here's a photo of a few that my sister helped me make on Tuesday night:

OK - I'm making excellent progress. Just 200 more to go!! If anyone needs me, you'll know where I'll be!

Such a tart!

I've got some very exciting news - I've been accepted onto the design team of Lime Tart!! Lime Tart is an Australian company (yay!) who put together some fabulous kits - "Creative kits with bite". Check out their site, and while you are there, look under designers. I'll meet you there - I'm the fourth tart.

Pretty in Pink

This is a little card I made for one of Rachel's friends who turned 5 this week. She had a fairy party with cupcakes and wands and wings and pretty little girl things. All stamps by justjohanna. Don't look too closely at the background - it's my messy desk at 2:30 in the morning!

All new justjohanna

Here's a peek at some of the brand new justjohanna images. Autumnal images..........

....which can easily be converted to Christmas by just changing the colour scheme.

Plus some more gorgeous little bird images. I've done this one in a girly/fairy colour scheme, great for a little girl's birthday card or even invitations.

If you would like to be kept up to date with all the exciting happenings at justjohanna, why not sign up for the newsletter, which itself is a bit of a masterpiece.

Collaborative Book pages

I'm hosting a collaborative book swap for ArtyOz, and while the girls were here on Saturday, I got mine finished. Hooray!

23 of the little suckers.

I guess the biggest test is to put all that work in and then see if you still like them the next day. I'm still pretty happy with them.

There's some amazing work coming in from everyone. I'm hoping to send a book away to be published. Stay tuned.

Happy Birthday to me.....

I belong to a few yahoo groups, one of which is a splinter group of ArtyOz. We formed this group to run altered book round robins in Victoria without having to post the books all over the country. The idea being we would meet at least once a month to swap books.

This month it was my turn to host, and coincidentally is also my birthday month. We had the best time - I showed the girls my new house and we played all afternoon. I was absolutely spoilt too - a canvas from Gail, a name tag from Joanne, some scented wax melts from Debbie, some silver pen nibs from Liz and the most amazing card/book from Greta. Greta also made a fabulous cake (chocolate of course!).

I feel so fortunate to have talented and generous friends such as these.

Baptism invitation

Here's what I worked on last night (until oops, 3am). I made 18 invitations for my little niece's baptism.

I wasn't allowed to stamp on the invitaiton, but I snuck one onto the envelope. And look - it's the justjohanna scroll again! How did that get there? Hee hee.

More Aqua

When you go to the trouble of making a good background and you put a lot of work into it, it's worthwhile making extra. Here endeth the lesson. Short one wasn't it?

Here are 3 ATCs I've made using the aqua background I made a couple of posts back. I love that colour - still not sick of it, so you might well see it again. Hope you're not all sick of it!
Stamp credits: Left-Zettiology for the hat, Inkdinkado message, justjohanna scroll. Middle - Savvy message, justjohanna scroll. Right - Cat's pjamas cupcake, Savvy message, justjohanna scroll.

High Distress Levels

I'm talking about the Tim Holtz type of distress - not the high adrenaline type, although for some this is the same thing.

This is a page I did in Donna's book. Her theme is Tim Holtz, so you can imagine the state of my fingers when I finished - I looked like a homeless person!

Fortunately, a couple of the girls let me borrow their Timmy books to get ideas from (thank Greta and Jo!), because I had no idea. Turns out I had a lot of fun, and had to stop myself from going way overboard.

I'm loving this round robin - all the girls are putting so much work into their pages. Most of them are really dimensional, which adds that extra bit of interest. Can't wait to get my book back in a few months time.

Aqua Princess

This is a little ATC I made for a swap. The theme was aqua. I just love this colour!
The cardstock started out life as a sheet of grey 12 x 12. I glued torn pieces of old book onto it, then painted it with some watered down acrylic. This looked a bit flat, so I dry-brushed some gesso over the top, and painted it again with some even-more-watered-down acrylic. It was missing something, so I stamped some Paperbag Studios distressed numbers in Versamark and embossed using aqua embossing powder. At this point I cut the 12 x 12 sheet down into ATC sized pieces, stamped my favourite scroll (justjohanna naturally!), added the photo and the ribbon. Then I stuck the crown on her head (she was having a bad hair day - too much frizz), and the Collections word mounted on chipboard. Voila!

Happy Father's Day

No cards to show this year - I was told in no uncertain terms that my company was more valuable than a card. It was a nice thing to say..............I suppose.

Anyway, we had a hectic day - out to a craft market in the morning, then to visit my father-in-law, then my dad's for dinner. I think it was all a bit too much for Elouise by the end of the day. Yep - asleep in the toy box!

I have to share something Jake made for his dad. It's a word search on his Megasketcher. Isn't it a sweet thing to do? That's my boy!

Some quickies

These are some cards that were quick and easy to whip up using ribbons. There's even a place for those little scrap cut-off pieces you would normally throw away!
The layout of these photos is proudly brought you by blogspot. Random innit?
