Finally - it's complete

This has been in the making for months, and now it's complete. I'm feeling such a sense of achievement - this calls for chocolate. Before I pop down to the shop to buy some, here are the photos of my book from the ArtyOz altered book round robin for 2007.

I finished this cover last night at Donna's house, so it's uber fresh. The theme of my book is fairly self-evident.

This is the page by the wonderfully talented Julian Buttenshaw. I'm honoured to be a recipient of some of her work. I love the background - the page as a whole has so much dimension.

This is the page by Vanessa Henry. I love all the elements - I can't stop looking at this page.

This is the page by Donna Taylor. This would be one of my all-time favourites, love that colour scheme.

And last but not least, a page by Greta Young. Lovely isn't it? I love the faux pressed-tin paper. The letters did not photograph very well - it says U can leave your hat on, which is clearly how Greta likes her encounters d'amour. (Just kidding Gretz!). This page is so touchable!

Thanks guys for going to so much effort in my book. I love it!

My laugh for the day

YEAH RIGHT!
It's way too late to trade in, innit?

more jj work

I've been making some cards for my very own gallery on the justjohanna website. Check it out here if you haven't already:
While you are there, click on the news button to take you to Johanna's blog, where you can enter a competition to win $25 to spend in the justjohanna online shop. You need to have some justjohanna stamps already (or know someone who has - you can borrow mine if you bring me chocolate!). All you need to do is make a card using this sketch - EASY peasy!
Here's a card I whipped up in a flash (well, maybe not a flash, because I had to get up a couple of times - once to clean up a spill by LouLou, and the second time to change her nappy). But it got done in the end.

I'm having so much fun playing with these stamps - I can't tell ya! Like a pig in the proverbial!

Where has the time gone?

OMG - it's been ages! Just as well I have something to show - I don't like to blog empty-handed! I've made a start to a new altered book which will end up being worked in by a talented group of ladies from ArtyOz. I've started the cover (it will end up having a little nest made on a twig branch, but I didn't want to add it yet because it has a long way to travel and it may get damaged. I'll finish it when it finally comes home in around 7 or 8 months). I used some of the most beautiful paper I have ever seen, given to me by my lovely friend Greta. I've also done the sign-in page. Each artist will sign the back of one of those tags. The theme I chose is - as you may have already guessed - elephants, no wait, birds. I can't wait to see what everyone puts into it. I think the theme may be a bit out of everyone's vintage children/Paris/vintage nude comfort zone, but I think that's when everyone's best work comes out.

Something for Julian

This is the page I did in Julian's altered book. We belong to a yahoo group called ArtyOz, and this is one of many swaps we participate in throughout the year. Julian's theme was Art Dolls - a bit of a challenge for me. Some art dolls can look quite grotesque - I think these appeal to me the most!!

Something for Greta

I wanted to make something more dimensional than just a card for my arty friend Greta, so I used some Collections arches, netting, prima flowers and other odds and ends to make this. Hope she likes it!
