Something for justjohanna

These are some of the cards I'm sending to kick off my gallery on the justjohanna website. Yep - as of June 1, I'll have an international gallery. How cool is that?

The pink one makes me smile - it incorporates absolutely ALL the justjohanna stamps I own to date. Until my big parcel arrives from the States that is. Can't wait!

Something for me

Have I told you about my renewed love for Twinkling H2O's?

This is a little 4x4 inch canvas I made using these lovely little paints. It took next to no time (or maybe it took ages and I just didn't notice because I was having so much fun!).

I did the background in yellow, then a very light wash over with red to make orange. I clear embossed an Autumn Leaves swirl at the top at this stage, then went over the whole thing with a dark, rich red. Blot, blot with a tissue, then dried it off with a heat gun. Then I embossed bits in gold, and stuck the photo of frumpy Miss Frump Frump and some German scrap. Simple but striking on account of the colours isn't it?
Thanks for looking!

Something for Jake

This is a little storyboard I made with photos of Jake on it. Rachel had one, so I didn't want him to feel left out. I used Scrapbooking Australia papers, I think the range is called Storytime (fitting, really, for a storyboard).
I love the blue and brown together - my favourite combo at the moment.
I had to take the photo on an angle because the flash kept leaving huge white spots on Jake's face. (I'm sure there's a technical name for this occurrence.)

more torso

I finished Jo's torso and the night was still young, so I started on another one. This time instead of acrylics I've used my twinkling H2Os (about time they were dusted off!). I've stamped an Autumn Leaves scroll in purple StazOn, and added some little diamentes to the wings. Same colours as Joanne's torso, but this time I've added a touch of pink. Quite noice, even if I do have to say so myself because Sammy has fallen asleep in front of the telly again.
Where's my broomstick? I'm off to poke at the smoke alarm. It's funny when Sammy wakes up in a panic - he can never open his eyes enough and always bumps into something. Ha ha.

Torso altering

That title makes it sound like my hobby on the side is serial murder and corpse mutilation!

That's not what I'm up to tonight tho - I'm altering a papier mache torso for a swap as part of group I belong to called ArtyOz. It's no where near finished yet - I need to drop in to Spotlights tomorrow for some more provisions, but here's where she's up to so far. I don't want to show too much because it's for Joanne, and I know she drops in to read my blog occasionally (Hi Jo! Hope you like it so far).

Sad day for me.........

My friend at work, Mich, is leaving the lab to go and work elsewhere. I'm so sad - we used to have so much fun together. She's just one of those amusing, articulate, outspoken but never rude (when sober anyway), positive, happy people. I'm so glad I got to meet her and work with her. The late shifts we did together with our other friend Andy (who now lives in London) are just legendary.
Hang on a minute - everyone is leaving. I'm sure it's not me, but I'd better assess the deodorant situation just in case.
Anyway, here's the card I made for Mich using an image I've lifted from the net at some stage:

justjohanna

Here are a couple of cards and a mini 4 x 4 inch canvas I made for the Design Team submission. Have I told everyone how much I love these stamps?

TA-DAH!!

You know how you can go through life, enjoying everything it throws at you, and then suddenly something wonderful happens? Well, something like that has happened to me - I was selected to join a Design Team, and not just any DT either!
I am now a member of a team that I have been admiring for aaaaages. Seriously - some of the work produced just takes my breath away. The company's name is justjohanna and their stamps are so versatile. They are just starting to be introduced to Australia via a couple of companies, namely Limetart and Blossies but trust me - won't be long before they take off here too!
Go ahead, check them out and fall in love like I did. It's a wonderful feeling!
