Special Little Girl

We're off to a very important first birthday today - Happy Birthday Ella-Maree! This little girl was born at 26 weeks, weighing a tiny 524 grams, and not expected to make it. Well, she had other plans! Little Emmamamee (this is what Elouise calls her) is a real inspiration, as is her incredible mother Angela. Ange is one of the funniest people I know, and by the looks of it, Ella-Maree has inherited this very necessary trait.

This is the card I made for her. Ange is going to kill me, but I used the photo from the invitation she cleverly designed. I stuck feathers to her back as wings and I've given her a little princess crown. The scroll stamps (that I'm using on just about everything at the moment because I think they are brilliant) are by Autumn Leaves. I think the pink and purple colours are just right for a princess!

Thanks for looking,

It's the little things.......

Sometimes I'm in such a rush to get the kids to school or kinder or to some other appointment, that it's easy to forget it's the little insignificant things to us that mean a lot to a small child. I was pulled up the other morning by my kids who spotted this beautiful creation.

It's autumn, so we get warm days and chilly mornings. I don't think we would have thought this web was half as beautiful if it had been summer, and there had been no dew on it.

I'm looking forward to using this image in my artwork at some stage. Stay tuned.

Another site to check out

I found this site a while ago, and it's very useful.
Pick a colour , and it will give you some wonderful colour combinations to work with.
Have fun with it,
Teresa

I've been fiddling

I've had a fiddle with my blog (keep it clean), and now anyone can leave a comment, not just members! Go ahead and write me something...........noice!

Happy Easter everyone

Hi all.
This is what I've been up to this week. The first pictures are of a little (ATC size) card/shrine I made for our nephew Adam who turned 21 last month. Busy Auntie Teresa (I hate it when he calls me that - makes me feel old. So he does it even more!) has only just got around to making it now. Sorry Addy! I've used a two-step paint process to achieve the rusted effect, and then some silver acrylic for the embellishments.

This next picture is of a fabric ATC made for a swap for one of my online groups. I think I prefer working with paper!
This last pic is of a card I made my sister for her birthday on the 5th April. She's adopted and she's older than me. Everyone says that I'm prettier than she is, but I don't like them saying that in case she hears them. Especially our Mum - she's always calling me her favourite when Linda is around. Anyway, back to the card. I've used Opals UTEE on the flowers, and the fiddle is worth the end result I think. I've also embossed the scrolls in regular white embossing powder. Alphabet stamps and little heart by Purple Onion.

Up late

I do my best work after dark........when the house is all quiet and not a creature stirs. Except for me tearing up some paper or smashing an eyelet with a hammer!

This what I came up with last night. It's for an altered book for a round robin I've joined. The them in this lady's book is "Wings". The second picture is a close-up of the writing I did. My wrist is so sore today! It took ages to write that out.

It was yet another 3:30 am finish, and I'm never fully aware of what I'm doing when I'm up that late. It's a nice feeling when I wake up later that morning after just a couple of hours sleep to discover what I've made. I was pretty happy with this result, and I hope Donna will be as well.
Thanks for looking.
